United High School Winter Camp, Jan 15-18

We expect 180 youth from Spokane Valley to go along to this winter camp. It should be a good event, with youth from a bunch of different churches attending. I won't be going, (I being Gordon Fitch, due to the birth of my son) but you can arrange to go through Zion Lutheran, one of our Lutheran Together churches.

Feb 6-8, Confirmation Camp

This year’s confirmation camp at Lutherhaven has the theme of "Plugged-In". Information will be sent to confirmands. And I heard the speaker this year is excellent, even though he has a foreign British accent ;)

Feb 3, Super Kids Church

Once a month, on the first Tuesday of the month at Good Shepherd Church, starting in February, we are going to experiment with an idea I have had.  What would church look like if church were aimed at the kids rather than adults?  I invite all families to come along for a children’s church service.  The service will be filled with singing, dramatized Bible readings, skits, and a children’s sermon.  The services, themed on the friends of Jesus, will last about 35 minutes, with a 25 minute fellowship hour afterwards. Bring your whole family and come and worship.

Jan 21, United Youth Church.

Every few months, our youth join with our neighboring churches for a youth church service.  Last time we had over 900 youth attending.  This time we meet at the new Real Life Ministry Church at 7pm.

Jan 19, MLK Jr. Family Skiing Day Trip, 8AM to 5:30 PM (Sign up by Jan 7)

Our Lutheran Churches will be joining with St.Mary’s Catholic Church for a Skiing trip.  This should be a lot of fun; all our welcome, but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The pricing details are listed below:

Adult (18-69) Lift Tickets: $36   Rentals: $25
Youth (7-17) Lift Tickets: $31   Rentals: $22
Child (6 and under) Lift Ticket: $0   Rentals: $14
